October 2021
3 Newly Added Amazing Navajo Rugs * 5 Featured *
I hope you enjoy these pictures from the opening reception of the Navajo Textiles exhibit at the Kings Art Center here in Hanford.
I am honored to be the first in-person exhibit since March 2020 when Covid 19 forced the closure of non-essential public gatherings.
Among the more than three dozen pieces are rugs, wall hangings, saddle blankets, a woman’s dress panel, and a first place award winning shawl woven of wool and silk.
Navajo Sandpaintings are very important rituals in the Navajo religion and they are swept away after the ceremony.
We are pleased to exhibit a very rare weaving that depicts a Father Sky Mother Earth Sandpainting.
The exhibit continues through Saturday, October 16th at Kings Art Center, 605 N. Douty Street, Hanford, California.
