- Number: 294
- Description: This rug is an excellent example of how the regional styles can sometimes be difficult to determine. At first I was sure it was a Bisti with the large wings in the center (Bisti Wings) but it is lacking the curvature that Bisti’ s are known for. When I showed it to another trader he showed me Two Grey Hills weavings with similar wings. If you compare the design elements of this rug to the largest Navajo Rug ever woven by Julia Joe and her daughters, the large border, the large wings and the water bugs are very similar. The Joe family was from Greasewood not far from Ganado. I can not tell you what regional style this rug is, but it is a great weaving.
